What outvote stores

• A signed cookie from this site remembers what this browser voted on, and how much it has submitted today.
• Votes and daily submission counts sit against a one-way key, not against the browser's own random ID.
• A signed referral cookie remembers the first valid invitation link this browser opens for 7 days. A one-way browser key prevents self-referrals and permanently marks its first recorded counted vote so later votes cannot earn another acquisition bonus. Available historical voting records are included, but earlier deleted history cannot identify every returning browser.
• A cookie named ov_ref keeps the share channel you arrived from for seven days, so we can count which channels bring voters. It holds a label, never an identifier.
• Your private invitation code and impact totals load after the public page. They are not placed in shared cached HTML or sent with analytics events.
• The visitor counter uses a separate random ID in local storage. Cloudflare only ever sees a one-way digest of it.
• PostHog receives cookieless, anonymous page views and product actions, plus the browser's user-agent string so real visitors are not counted as bots. We do not send form contents, raw IPs, or create visitor profiles there.
• Your IP is hashed and kept for 90 days, so we can spot vote piles and submission spam.
• There are no accounts, no logins, and no profile to store.
